Financing solar power systems in the United States, particularly large ones, is reliant upon Tax Equity Partnerships. Tax Equity Partnerships enable corporations to shelter their large U.S. tax exposures through an investment in solar power.
What is it?
The U.S. Government allows Solar Project owners tax relief by giving them:
- A credit equal to 30% of the project's costs.
- An acceleration of the project's depreciation.
- An interest expense deduction.
