Hanergy recently expanded its residential solar offering to include Spreitenbach, Switzerland, in partnership with IKEA. For the first time, Swiss consumers will be able to purchase a Hanergy Solar System at the Swedish retailer, starting at CHF 7,650, with an average price of CHF 12,400 exl VAT for a 4kW system including VAT, and including a 15% discount for IKEA FAMILY members.
For an average 4kW Hanergy system costing CHF 12,400, a customer will receive a one-off payment of CHF 4,800 from the Swiss Einmalvergütung scheme intended to incentivise solar uptake in the country and a further saving of up to CHF 1,289 from tax deductions, as well as generating potential 25-year system lifetime earnings of over CHF 18,000.
Switzerland is the third country to roll out the IKEA and Hanergy solar panel offer, with the UK piloting the scheme in 2013 and the Netherlands launching the offer in October this year. To date, 1,800 systems have been sold in the UK.
Hanergy commissioned research in Switzerland found that the solar market has huge potential in the country, with 62% of Swiss consumers interviewed saying they would go solar if the costs were better value.
Since April 2014 the Swiss government has also
been encouraging more homeowners to install solar panels under the one-off
payment scheme called Einmalvergütung. The project costs of solar systems can
normally be deducted from the taxable income, constituting an additional incentive
to install solar.
Hanergy’s solar panels use next generation thin-film technology, which means they have an attractive ‘all-black’ appearance, perform well in low-light and cloudy conditions, and require less energy to produce than regular ‘silicon’ solar panels. The Hanergy home monitoring system helps consumers monitor their system’s electricity generation anytime, anywhere and can be integrated with a smartphone. Hanergy also offers a 25 years performance guarantee on the solar panels, which warrants a minimum of 80% of rated capacity after 25 years.
